An Endless Projection
Mathmos is a British heritage brand founded in 1963 by the inventor of the lava lamp. Mathmos lava lamps have been hand made in Britain ever since. Microcosmic is a limited edition design for Mathmos’ Space Projector Graphic Pack series. The slide rotates on an axis projecting a continuous landscape of light and shadows.
Microcosmic takes the user on an experience of scale. Molecules consolidate to form cells that become the patterns of a butterfly wing. Butterflies in the night give way to constellations and a meteor shower morphs back into a series of atoms.
